ATTN GCCS Community: At approximately 12:30 p.m. on 08/31/2022, Mesa View Elementary School was evacuated due a strong odor of gas. The Local gas company, PNM, was notified and responded immediately. Students and staff were evacuated to the Parent Parking Lot. PNM staff shut off all gas lines to conduct a thorough check and all students and staff returned to classes at 2:00 p.m. without further incident. Mesa View Elementary School will be closed on Thursday, September 1st, to ensure that all of the necessary means, to include hot water, are available for sanitary purposes.

Los Alamitos Middle School Open House is schedule for next Thursday, August 25th from 5:30-6:30. We are excited to meet our students' families.
Attention GCCS Community –
At approximately 1:00 pm today, we were made aware of a threat on Social Media regarding a student threatening another with a firearm. The GCCS security personal and Grants Police Department responded immediately. The school was sheltered in place and the individual making the threat was detained. An “All Clear” was pronounced at approximately 1:15 pm and the school has resumed normal operation.

We understand your frustrations and are working hard to help everyone with their needs and questions. The 2022-23 School Year is fast approaching and below are the important dates for Los Alamitos Middle School.
Important Dates and time are posted below;
Thursday, August 4th- 5:30 PM- 7th Grade Student/Family Orientation (GYM)
Tuesday, August 9th- 8:30-11:00 & 12:00-3:00- 7th & 8th Grade Schedule Pickup
Wednesday, August 10th- 8:30-11:00 & 12:00-3:00- 7th & 8th Grade Schedule Pickup
Thursday, August 11th- First day of School!
The school district has purchased school supplies for every student. They will be distributed directly to the students within the first few days of school. Please ensure your child has a backpack to carry their school supplies.
Students must bring a parent/guardians with them to receive their schedules. During schedule pickups students and parents/guardians will learn more about the new Synergy Gradebook system. Thank you all for being patient with us as we transition from our old SIS (PowerSchool) to the new SIS (Synergy).
